DATA PROTECTION POLICY STATEMENT 

In signing the Agreement, the Tenant provides his/her consent that the Landlord may disclose information in relation to the Tenant's occupation pursuant to this Agreement in the following circumstances and/or to the following people: 

  1. to any member of the Landlords' group of companies (which means its subsidiaries, its ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries),
  2. to third parties in the event that the Landlord sells or buys any business or assets, in which case the Landlord may disclose personal data it holds to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets. If the Landlord's assets (or a substantial proportion of them) are acquired by a third party, then personal data it holds will be one of the transferred assets.
  3. if the Landlord is under a duty to disclose or share the Tenants' personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply any contract with the data subject or other agreements; or to protect the Landlord's rights, property, or safety of its employees, tenants, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
  4. to the Tenant's parent/guardian where the parent/guardian is concerned about the Tenant's wellbeing or whereabouts.  
  5. The Landlord will, in disclosing such information, ensure that there is no infringement of the Tenant's rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 including (without limitation) the data protection principles set out within the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679. The Tenant has the right to access information held about him/her this right of access can be exercised in accordance with GDPR.

MESSAGING

General

By opting into messages, you agree to receive recurring automated marketing and informational text messages from true student. Automated messages may be sent using an automatic telephone dialling system to the mobile telephone number you provided when signing up or any other number that you designate.

Message frequency varies, and additional mobile messages may be sent periodically based on your interaction with true student. true student reserves the right to alter the frequency of messages sent at any time to increase or decrease the total number of sent messages. true student also reserves the right to change the short code or phone number where messages are sent.

Message and data rates may apply. If you have any questions about your text plan or data plan, it is best to contact your wireless provider. Your wireless provider is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Your consent to receive marketing messages is not a condition of purchase.

Carriers

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Cancellation

You can cancel any time by texting "STOP". After you send the SMS message "STOP", we will send you a message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed and no more messages will be sent. If you would like to receive messages from true student again, just sign up as you did the first time and true student will start sending messages to you again.

Transfer of Number

You agree that before changing your mobile number or transferring your mobile number to another individual, you will either reply “STOP” from the original number or notify us of your old number at hello@truestudent.com. The duty to inform us based on the above events is a condition of using this service to receive messages.

Messaging Terms Changes

We reserve the right to change or terminate our messaging program at any time. We also reserve the right to update these Messaging Terms at any time. Such changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued enrolment following such changes shall constitute your acceptance of such changes.

REFER A FRIEND

ACADEMIC YEAR 2023/24    

  1. To be classed as a friend referral, the referrer must have a pre-existing booking for academic year 2023/24 where the tenancy agreement is signed and out of its cooling off period, before a friend is referred.
  2. The friend or ‘referee’ should be a NEW resident and not have previously resided at true student.
  3. Agent referrals are not applicable for this offer.
  4. From 17/08/2023: Valid for bookings made in true Liverpool, Swansea, Manchester Salford One & Two, Birmingham, Newcastle and Glasgow.
  5. Not applicable for bookings made between 14th June 2023 - 17th August 2023 for the 2023/24 academic year at true Manchester Salford One and Two, true Swansea and true Newcastle Opto. 
  6. Not applicable for bookings at true Glasgow or true Birmingham between the 13th October 2022-17th August 2023.
  7. To be eligible for the cashback, both parties must have signed their tenancy agreements for their upcoming bookings, with guarantor statuses approved and all contracted payments received by true student.
  8. The 'referrer' and 'referee' will be eligible for £100 cashback each.
  9. To qualify for the incentive, both parties must have a booking of 44-weeks or longer for the UPCOMING academic year 23/24.

  11. Should the 'referee' or 'referrer's' booking be cancelled, the offer will be deemed null and void for both parties.

  2. Valid for all bookings made between 1st December 2023 - 12th December 2023 and only applicable when rebooking a room for AY24/25 in the same property that you are living at for AY23/24.
  3. To be eligible to claim the voucher, bookings must be booked during this time and the contract signed and advanced rental payment paid.

REBOOKING CAMPAIGN OCTOBER 2023

ACADEMIC YEAR 2024/25 - ALL PROPERTIES

  1. To be entered into the prize draw to win the Macbook Pro, the student must have booked between 10AM on 09/10/2023 and 11.59PM on 31/10/24.

GROUP BOOKING OFFER

DIRECT BOOKINGS

  1. To be eligible for the offer the tenants must book as a group of 4 - 10 students. 
  2. Cashback offers are; up until and including 19/12/2023: £100 each when booking as a group of 4, £125 each when booking as a group of 5 and £150 each when booking as a group of 6-10. From 20/12/2023: £100 each when booking as a group of 4, £150 each when booking as a group of 5 and £200 each when booking as a group of 6-10,

  4. This offer is only redeemable when booking directly through true student (not applicable for agent bookings).
